Your home, and your babies nursery, will form the environment upon which the foundations of your relationship together is built.
As your baby interacts with this environment the first stages of learning about the world will be taking place. There are many ways to ensure that your environment is resonating with an energy of love, joy and peace to provide the most supportive surroundings during what can be a challenging and transitional time.
General Tips for setting up the Nursery based on the principles of Form School Feng Shui:
- Position the cot head against a solid wall to provide a sense of security when sleeping.
- Position the cot so that your Baby has a view of the door.
- It is best not to have Babies feet in direct alignment with the door. If this is unavoidable place a screen or piece of furniture at the end of the cot.
- Remove any mirrors from the room as these produce Yang Chi.
- Make sure there are no sharp corners pointing toward the cot, such as the corner of a table, as these send out sharp energy known as Sha Chi.
- Ensure there is nothing being stored under the cot as this will stagnate the energy and disrupt sleep.
- Do not hang mobiles over the cot during sleep time as these can scare the Baby on waking.
- If your Baby will be sleeping in a room that is used for some other purpose seperate the room into clear sections using curtains, screens or furniture.
- The first thing that your Baby sees when waking is important from an energy perspective. Hang a beautiful (but not too busy) picture where it can be seen. A photo of parent/s lovingly holding the Baby is a great picture to hang in a position where it can be seen from the cot.
- Remember that the nursery should be a place where you love being.
- Fill the room with items you love and that bring you a sense of joy and calm.
